Following arresting of Aung San Suu Kyi and other figures in Myanmar. TV and Radio broadcasts have been canceled in the country. Some ethnic party leaders and student leaders were also detained early morning.
The ruling party spokesman confirms Aung San Suu Kyi detained by the Myanmar army. Soldiers are seen on the streets of Myanmar’s capital, Naypyidaw. Telephone and internet communications to the capital are down, BBC reports. Myanmar ruling party spox: “With the situation we see happening now, we have to assume that the military is staging a coup.” (AFP)
